A tradition since yours truly was actually eligible to enter the colouring contest! Light Up Night is an institution in Caledonia This year is REALLY special as we will be saying goodbye to our light display at the Old Mill. A true icon, it’s well worth the drive (or incredibly picturesque walk along the river), to see and hear this gorgeous display. Further, there are rumours that our friend Elsa might make an appearance at Edinburgh Square. As always, Old Saint Nick will be on hand at the Fairgrounds to hear what is on everyone’s Christmas list this year! Festivities start November 27th at 6:30pm at the Old Mill.
2. Santa Claus Parade
Courtesy of the Caledonia Kinsmen, our Santa Claus Parade runs on November 29th at 11am. Starting at the Fairgrounds and ending at McKinnon Park, grab a seat along Argyle or Caithness streets to see all of the floats…and you know who! (Big guy…red suit!) Bonus: stop and pick up a hot chocolate before parade viewing.
3. Win Amazing Local Prizes
Every year, local businesses offer up GREAT prizes during the holiday season. “Santa stops here” signs denote the businesses with prizes to be won inside! Ballot boxes are out November 20-December 15th. Visit caledoniabia.ca for location information, or look for ballots in the November 27th Sachem! (Ballots also available in stores) http://www.caledoniabia.ca/christmas-in-caledonia.html
