So sweet, so delicious! My personal favourite is the 6 for $5 special. Chocolate, vanilla, wintergreen, blue raspberry and another chocolate for good measure!
2. Fluffy headed ducks and chickens
A little shout out to my Dad, who sparked my love for the fancy fowl from a very young age! Located right next to the entrance, you can’t miss a chance to take a peak at the pretty poultry.
Any kind and every kind! Our favourite is served up courtesy of the Caledonia Baptist Church booth!
4. Demo Derby
Two nights for your viewing pleasure! It’s worth coming on Friday AND Saturday to catch the show. Come early: grab a snack and a hot beverage, and bring your blanket to cuddle up on the grand stand, these seats go fast!
5. One Price Ride Night
The absolute fair highlight for young daredevils, testing their will (and stomachs) on the fastest carnival rides!
6. Ferris wheel
There’s nothing better than looking down on the gorgeous fairgrounds from high atop the Ferris wheel!
7. Kids art & crafts (these kids draw better than I do!)
When I was younger, I ran to the exhibition hall to look for MY works of art. Now I go to admire the talented young artists, bakers and crafters that make these contests so special!
Conveniently located next to the adorable artwork, the Maple Leaf Fudge stand is a must!
9. Midway Games
The sheer pride in carrying around a giant stuffed toy is second to none. For those a little less inclined the pocket sized prize variety is a nice treat too!
After 142 years the Caledonia Fair has become an institution. For those of us that have grown up here, we can likely count on one hand the number of years we HAVEN’T attended our fall fair. Fair time is one of a kind.
